KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank outplayed Tenaga Nasional 4-1 in the men's final of the Malaysian Indoor Hockey League at Sports Arena IOI City Mall in Putrajaya today (Sept 21).
Maybank skipper Najmi Farizal Jazlan converted three penalty corners in the 13th, 21st and 22nd minutes. Izham Azhar (30th) contributed the other goal.
Captain Shazril Irwan Nazli replied for Tenaga in the 33rd minute.
In the semi-final yesterday, Maybank defeated Armed Forces 3-1 while Tenaga edged KL City Hall 5-4.
City Hall edged Armed Forces 7-6 to finish third.
Meanwhile, City Hall beat Melaka Old Ladies 4-2 in the women's final.
Iren Hussin (12th), Surizan Awang Noh (14th), Wan Norfaiezah Saiuti (18th) and Fazilla Sylvester Silin (36th) scored for City Hall. Norshafiqha Ishak (30th) and Nurul Shafizan Amran (34th) replied for Melaka.
Malaysia University edged BNHC SMZN 2-1 for third place.
