SIN Li Jane and Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman reached the second round of the season-ending Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour Championship at Richmond International Raceway in Virginia on Monday.
Li Jane, the 14th seed, upset seventh seed Rocio Restrepo of Colombia 223-191, 227-214, 265-230 in the best-of-five match-play event.
The Perak-born played American champion Shannon O'Keefe in a late match on Tuesday.
Siti Safiyah, the 13th seed, also produced a sterling performance to oust eighth seed Clara Guerrero of Colombia 255-197, 247-277, 221-195, 214-234, 241-215.
"It was a tough match. Both of us were knocking down a lot of strikes in the match," said Siti Safiyah on Tuesday.
"But I held my nerves to enter the next stage. The lanes are slightly different and challenging."
The 27-year-old Malaysian took on American Shannon Pluhowsky in a late second round match on Tuesday.
Li Jane and Siti qualified for the tournament by virtue of being the Lincoln Open and Wichita Open champions in June.
