Pandelela finishes 11th in platform at Commonwealth Games

KUALA LUMPUR: Is Pandelela Rinong carrying a serious injury?

The Sarawak-born was one of the favourites going into the women's 10m platform final today.

However, Pandelela struggled to execute her routines in the five-dive event and finished 11th.

The reigning World Cup champion was third with a combined score of 129.70 points after the opening two dives.

But it went downhill from then on as Pandelela recorded average dives of 52.80, 33.60 and 44.80 for a 260.90 total.

With both ankles heavily strapped. Pandelela struggled from the third dive.

England won gold and silver through Andrea Spendolini Sirieix (357.50) and Lois Mae Toulson (337.30), while Canada's Caeli Sierra McKay finished third on 317.50.

Many expected Pandelela to be on the podium today following her bronze-medal effort at last month's World Championships in Budapest.
