HANGZHOU: Veteran Qabil Ambak Fathil has gifted Malaysia their second gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The 43-year-old and his faithful horse, Rosenstolz, can now ride into the sunset knowing they are Asia's best in the individual dressage discipline.
On Thursday at the Tonglu Equestrian Centre, Qabil, who made his Asiad debut in 1998, dethroned 2018 gold medallist, Jacqueline Siu of Hong Kong, when he amassed 75.780 points in the final.
Jacqueline, who accumulated 73.450 points, took the silver, while India's Anush Agarwalla (73.030) settled for the bronze.
