KUALA LUMPUR: Seventh seed S. Sivasangari powered past Hong Kong's Lee Ka Yi into the Ace Malaysia Squash Cup semi-finals yesterday.
The Malaysian won 11-9, 11-9, 11-5 in 27 minutes at the Mohd Said Sports Complex in Seremban 2. She will meet Egypt's top seed Nour El Tayeb next.
Nour defeated world junior champion and compatriot Amina Orfi 11-6, 11-9, 11-7 in the last eight.
Asian champion Sivasangari said: "I had played Nour a couple of times and am excited to play her again."
Rachel Arnold stunned Egypt's second seed Farida Mohamed 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5 and will another Egyptian, Malak Khafagy, in the last four.
National No. 1 Ng Eain Yow reached the men's semi-finals with a 11-6, 11-9, 11-2 win over France's sixth seed Sebastien Bonmalais.
The Asian champion will next meet Egypt's second seed Karim Abdel Gawad Karim beat Swiss Dimitri Steinmann 13-11, 11-9, 12-10.
