KUALA LUMPUR: Top seed U. Thanusaa exacted sweet revenge on compatriot Goh Zhi Xuan as she won the women's final at the ACE PSA WSF Satellite 1 in Seremban today.
The Melaka-born player, who lost to Zhi Xuan in a Satellite final last year, won 11-4, 11-8, 12-10 to record her first PSA Tour victory at the Seremban Two Squash Arena.
In the semi-finals, Thanussa defeated Jessica Keng 11-6, 11-7, 11-4, while Zhi Xuan overcame Chen Yu Jie 8-11, 12-10, 3-11, 11-4, 11-4.
Thanusaa, 19, said: "It is my second year in the Satellite, and I am glad to win my first tournament.
"The title will boost my confidence for the Asian Juniors in June and the World Juniors in July," said Thanusaa, who was part of the Malaysian team that won silver at the World Juniors in Melbourne last year."
Hong Kong's Au Lap Man made short work of Indonesia's Muhammad Fathan 11-4, 11-3, 11-2 to win the men's title.
