Nickhileswar leads seven players into second round of Asian Juniors

KUALA LUMPUR: Second seed M. Nickhileswar is one of eight players who advanced to the second round of the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Tuesday.

The Penang-born defeated South Korea's Jun Seoyoul 11-2, 11-1, 11-1 in the first round of the boys' Under-17 category, while compatriot Altamis Aqhar Sallam overcame Pakistan's Ibrahim Zeb 11-5, 11-6, 17-15.

In the boys' Under-19 division, Hasvhind Kugan defeated Sri Lanka's Dineth Vishan Ranatunga 11-7, 11-5, 11-7.

In the boys' Under-15 category, Sim Yeak Wei eliminated India's Lokesh Subramani 7-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-2, while Wayne Isaac Wilson overcame Sri Lanka's Dhnuja Sethsara Jayasinghe 11-1, 11-4, 11-0.

Julius Tan received a walkover from India's Dhruv Johri in the boys' Under-13 category.

In the girls' Under-19 category, Anrie Goh subdued Sri Lanka's Ranliya Irundinithi Wood 11-3, 11-2, 11-5, while S. Abhitha Shanraj came back from the brink of defeat to beat Iran's Nargol Ramezanzadeh 8-11, 11-4, 12-10, 11-9, 11-6.
