Diver Dhabitah awaits news from MAS on UK training camp

KUALA LUMPUR: Nur Dhabitah Sabri is awaiting confirmation from Malaysia Aquatics (MAS) on her pre-Olympics training camp in the United Kingdom.

Currently, MAS diving technical director Bryan Nickson Lomas is making arrangements for Dhabitah and Bertrand Rhodict Lises to train in the UK before the Olympics start on July 27.

"I believe we will leave for the UK on the 8th or 9th (of July) but I'm not 100 per cent sure yet as I'm waiting for confirmation from Bryan.

"MAS is arranging for us to be there. I think because it's not far away from Paris and I hear the Australian team will be there too.

"If that's the case, it's good to get a competitive feel before the Olympics,"

Dhabitah said today.

Dhabitah, 24, said she only found out last Friday that she has been offered an Olympic wild card, and she has, since then, stepped up her training intensity.

"I learned from my last Olympic appearance that I need to relax more. A lot has changed since then and I need to regain that relaxation," added Dhabitah who will compete in her third Olympics in Paris.

Dhabitah made her Olympics debut at Rio 2016 where she finished fifth in the 3m synchronised springboard with Cheong Jun Hoong and ninth in the 10m platform.

She also qualified for Tokyo 2020 where she narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in the individual springboard.
