Paris contingent receives Milo, Nescafe and Maggi supplies

KUALA LUMPUR: The national contingent competing at the Paris Olympics (Jul 26 to Aug 11) will be well stocked with Nestle products to keep them energised during the competition.

This is because Milo, the iconic chocolate beverage brand, is an official partner of the Paris contingent.

Nestle Products sports marketing manager Lim Kerwin said all 26 athletes and 40 officials heading to Paris will receive the products.

Kerwin attended a sponsorship presentation with members of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) in Kuala Lumpur today.

"As usual, we will prepare Nestle products, mainly Milo, in sachets to make it easier for them to carry and use when travelling," said Lim today.

"Of course we will also provide them with other products, such as Nescafe and Maggi.

"This is not only for the athletes but also the coaches, managers, secretariat as well as the (Malaysian) media.

"We also provide a cash sponsorship, which is directed to OCM directly on a yearly basis."

Milo is the longest running supporter of OCM and has been sponsoring the umbrella body and its initiatives since Malaysia first competed at the Olympics as Malaya in 1956.

Milo and OCM's current deal runs until 2028, but Lim is optimistic their cooperation will extend beyond that.

"We have been supporting OCM for about seven decades and I foresee this partnership to go beyond that (2028). We will continue giving support to the Malaysian contingent," he said.
