KUALA LUMPUR: National sprinter Azeem Fahmi does not expect to face any difficulty adapting to the weather conditions when he makes his debut at the Paris Olympics on Saturday.
Azeem, who arrived in Paris early this week, said he is remaining focused ahead of the men's 100 metre event which will be held at Stade de France.
"Adapting to the weather and conditions here is not a big issue. The weather here is okay, it is not too different from Malaysia but it is a bit windy," said Azeem yesterday.
"Yesterday (Tuesday) it was very hot but we are quite used to that.
"My coach has just told me to focus on what we have been doing in training and try to maintain my momentum until the event starts."
Azeem received a universality place, better known as a wildcard, to compete at the games.
The Teluk Intan-born is the current national record holder in the 100m event. Azeem had set the national mark of 10.09 seconds at the 2022 World Under-20 Championships in Colombia.
