Dhabitah shows flashes of her former form in Olympic 3m springboard final

KUALA LUMPUR: Diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri showed flashes of her former form but struggled with consistency in the women's 3m springboard final at the Paris Aquatics Centre on Friday.

The 25-year-old Malaysian finished last in the 12-woman field with a five-dive total of 244.80 points.

Dhabitah started strong, scoring 63.00 and 60.00 in her first two dives, placing her third. However, she faltered in her third and fourth attempts, scoring 37.50 and 28.50, which dropped her to 12th place.

She managed 55.80 in her final dive, but it wasn't enough to improve her ranking.

"I am happy to have reached the final despite the challenges. I was a late inclusion after receiving a quota spot," said Dhabitah.

"I must thank my coaches and everyone who helped me prepare for the Olympics. I didn't expect to be here, so I'm thankful to have made it to the final."

China's Chen Yiwen claimed the gold with a total of 376 points, while Australia's Maddison Keeney took silver with 343.10 points.

China's Chang Yani secured the bronze with 318.75 points.
