KUCHING: Elvis Priestly Clement and Enrique Maccartney Harold delivered hosts Sarawak its third diving gold medal on the trot at the Sarawak Malaysia Games (Sukma) today.
Elvis-Enrique clinched the men's 10 metre platform synchronised gold after scoring a total of 384.72 points at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatics Centre.
Sabah's Julfaddli Jaliand-Anilrian Normatr Abdullah claimed silver (282.12) while Federal Territories' (FT) Donald Chen-Choo Jin Wei completed the podium on 271.53.
Elvis, 18, who also won gold in the men's 3m springboard yesterday, said there is no secret behind their success.
"It's all about mentality, chemistry and our friendship. We have been training together for 11 years," said Elvis.
"I will next compete against Enrique in the 10m platform individual on Thursday and hopefully, I will win gold."
Elvis-Enrique's score was not far from the 386.07 score that Enrique and Bertrand Rhodict Lises managed en route to bronze at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year.
Enrique, 21, said he is looking forward to once again partner Rhodict and begin preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Rhodict recently made his Olympic debut at the Paris Games.
"Rhodict and I have been together for a long time. We have trained together since we were young," said Enrique.
"I want to qualify for the Olympics like him. I want to qualify in both the synchro and individual events."
Earlier today Sarawak won the mixed 3m springboard synchronised eventthrough Awang Sharzan Nasrin Awang Nasaruddin-Dayang Nursharzyra Awang Nasaruddin.
Nursharzyra later returned to the pool and claimed gold in the women's 1m springboard individual event.
