Vamos v SRG: The battle for MPLMY supremacy awaits

SERI KEMBANGAN: Newly formed Team Vamos have yet to lose in Season 14 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Profesional League Malaysia (MPLMY), going toe-to-toe with Mid Season Cup winner Selangor Red Giants (SRG).

But that will change as both teams will face off in a highly anticipated match on Saturday (Sept 28) to determine who will lead the standings before the playoffs.

SRG are currently at the top of the standings, with Vamos in second place.

Both teams have 4-0 records, but SRG (8-1) have dropped one game fewer than Vamos (8-2), giving them the lead with 11 points to 10 in the table.

Vamos coach Khairul Azman "Pabz" Sharif said he is aware of public perception that his team's performance may be declining but believes that they are facing stronger opposition each week.

"Teams are improving, so every match is challenging. However, we will improve and address the weaknesses in our game.

"We are also studying our opposition to find out their weaknesses.

"I also believe we are on the right path to be the Malaysian representative for the M6 World Championships," said Khairul Azman at a post-match interview at the Subang Jaya City Council Stadium in Serdang Jaya on Sunday.

The M6 World Championships will be held in Malaysia for the second time. The champions and runners-up of MPLMY Season 14 will represent the nation in the world meet at the Axiata Arena in November against the best MLBB teams in the world.

Vamos Jungler Nazhan "Chibi" Nor understands that to get to M6 they need to fix the weaknesses in their gameplay ahead of their crucial match against league leaders SRG on Saturday.

"SRG are eSports World Cup champions. Whatever mistakes that we have made in Week 1-3, we need to fix them.

"It won't be easy playing against SRG, but our chemistry is good right now. We are also trying out new strategies," said the 21-year-old.

Week 3 action started on Friday with Team Rey defeating RSG Malaysia 2-1 and SRG cementing their place at the top with a 2-0 win over RED eSports.

On Saturday, two-time MPLMY champions Todak defeated Team Haq 2-0, while JP Niners shocked Season 12 champions Hombois 2-1.

Monster Vicious completed Saturday's action with a 2-0 win over Team Rey.

Sunday saw RED defeating JP Niners 2-0, while Vamos were sweating after dropping Game 2 against Todak before winning 2-1.

Homebois continued their losing streak, this time going down to Team Haq 2-1.
