SHAH ALAM: Thailand's Muaythai sensation Rodtang Jitmuangnon and his family are set to spice up the Kuda Merah International Muaythai Challenge Grand Finals at the Titiwangsa Stadium from Nov 16-17.
ONE flyweight Muaythai world champion Rodtang is expected to be at the corner when his younger brother, Nong Ice and sister-in-law, Zaidania Looksaikongdin of the Looksaikongdin Muaythai Club, get onto the ring.
Nong Ice will take on Malaysian Haikal Salami of Hallo Fightlab and Zaidania will fight Singapore's Winna Leow of Pineapple Muaythai club.
Rodtang and his wife, female Muaythai exponent Aida Looksaikongdin, are also scheduled for a meet and greet session with fans at the Titiwangsa Stadium on Nov 16.
Kuda Merah Muaythai club president Rosli Yaacob promised action-packed fights for Malaysian fans as they have lined up 17 bouts.
"This time we are pitting Malaysian fighters against foreign fighters. We will have high quality fights this time with participation from world class fighters from all over Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Afghanistan," said Rosli.
"Our fighters have been preparing for the last three months... we identified the fighters based on the weight class, height and their abilities to face foreign fighters.
"We have arranged amateur fights as well to provide a platform for upcoming fighters. This time we have invited Rodtang to bring excitement to the event. His younger brother and sister-in-law will be participating as well."
Kuda Merah has been hosting the Kuda Merah Muaythai Challenge Grand Finals at the Titiwangsa Stadium since 2011 and this year's edition will see them work together with Tourism Malaysia to promote the Visit Malaysia campaign.
