KUALA LUMPUR: Alliance face mounting pressure to secure a spot in the Grand Finals of the PlayerUnknown's Battleground (PUBG) Mobile Global Championships (PMGC) in London in December.
As the sole Malaysian representative, Alliance will kick off their campaign in the group play event from Oct 31-Nov 17, aiming to qualify directly without going through the Survival and Last Chance stages.
Alliance coach Mosleh "MosG" Subairi is confident his players can reach the Grand Finals by finishing in the top three of the group stage.
"My players are confident of achieving top three, and we have been really consistent this year," said the 28-year-old.
The team's best result this year was topping the group stage of the eSports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in July, although they finished 15th in the Grand Finals, earning US$105,313 (RM456,742) in prize money.
The PMGC sees 48 teams worldwide competing for 15 slots in the Grand Finals at the Excel Auditorium in London.
The top three teams from the Yellow, Red, and Green groups will qualify directly, while the remaining teams must battle through the Survival and Last Chance stages for the six remaining spots.
