Vamos say opponents' insensitive comments fired them up

JOHOR BARU: Team Vamos claimed that their opponents mouthed some inappropriate and insensitive things about them.

And this fired up Vamos to beat Todak 3-1 in a bristling upper bracket final of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Malaysia (MPLMY) playoffs at EduCity Sports Complex, Iskandar Puteri, today.

The win also earned Vamos a spot in the M6 World Championships at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil later this month.

Team Vamos said they were upset by some comments made by Todak before the final, and they used it as motivation to vanquish their foes.

Vamos dominated the first two games before Todak won the third. But it was not enough as the newly minted team took the fourth.

Vamos' Nazhan "Chibi" Mohd Nor, who is the series' Most Valuable Player, said: "They (Todak) said some inappropriate things that were sensitive for us, and it hit a nerve, so that's why I expressed my emotions after the win.

"We knew that we would defeat them to reach the Grand Finals as the gap between us and them is huge," said the 21-year-old jungler from Terengganu in a post-match press conference.

"We will bring something new to the Grand Finals to keep our opponents guessing," he added.

Todak, however, are still in contention. They have dropped to the lower bracket finals, where they await the winners of the match between Selangor Red Giants and Red Esports later today.
