PUTRAJAYA: Most teams would feel down after a defeat, especially one which leaves them facing elimination from a tournament.
However, Team Vamos went for a movie after losing to CFU Gaming on Sunday. And on Tuesday, they enjoyed themselves by playing badminton.
This happened after they dropped to the 1-2 bracket in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M6 World Championships and needing a win against Turkiye's S2G to keep their hopes alive.
And today, a rejuvenated Vamos vanquished the Turkish champions 2-0 at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Team roamer Zul Hisham "Xorn" Mohd Noor said: "Going to the movies and playing badminton is our routine.
"Any kind of physical activity is good for us, it helps you sweat and increases fitness," he said.
Vamos coach Khairul Azman "Pabz" Sharif said watching a movie helped them de-stress and reset for the crunch match against S2G.
"We focused on being disciplined against S2G. When we held the early lead, we worked hard to maintain consistency."
With the win, Vamos advanced to the final round of the Swiss stage where they need one more win to qualify for the knockout stage.
Though earlier in the tournament, Vamos lost to Saudi Arabia's Twisted Minds and Cambodians CFU, Khairul said he wouldn't mind being drawn with either team in the next round.
"We want to meet them, we want to prove that the (earlier) defeats were only a blip. At the same time we are ready for whoever we will be drawn against."
