Diver Tze Liang suffers head injury at Malaysia Open

KUALA LUMPUR: National diver Ooi Tze Liang injured his head during the Malaysia Open men's 3m springboard final at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil today.

His head hit the springboard during his second dive, leaving a gash and blood on the pool.

Tze Liang, 31, who appeared to be conscious, was quickly pulled from the pool. Medical personnel attended to him and the diver was stretchered off the deck with a bandage around his head.

At the time of the incident, Tze Liang was competing with national teammate Syafiq Puteh and divers from Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Taiwan and Singapore.
