SRG let lead slip, suffer second M6 loss

PUTRAJAYA: Selangor Red Giant's (SRG) shaky start to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M6 World Championship continues as they succumbed to their second defeat in the tournament today (Nov 30).

Despite having the upper hand for most of the match, SRG lost 1-0 to Myanmar's Falcon Esports at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre.

SRG were very much in control early on and led the kill count 15-7 at the 18th minute mark.

However, at the 20th minute mark, a good play from Falcon during a Lord contest unravelled all the good work SRG had done up to that point.

In the blink of an eye, three players from SRG dropped dead which allowed Falcon to slay the Lord and begin a final push into the Malaysians' base and eventually end the game.

Earlier on Thursday (Nov 28) SRT lost to Turkiye's S2G but they rebounded against ULFHEDNAR yesterday, both being best-of-one matches.

SRG coach Michael Angelo "Arcadia" Bocado admitted they were outplayed in the key moments of the match but was nevertheless satisfied with his players' performances.

"Their (Falcon) Joy player was able to find our Granger and eliminate him, and that dictated the outcome of the game," said the Filipino during the post-match presser.

"So regardless of our lead it just took one moment from them (to turn the match around).

"I feel ok with our performance, I know my players have given their all but sometimes things like this happen."

The defeat sees SRG fall to the 1-2 bracket and they have one more life left to stay alive in the competition.

The Mid Season Cup champions will take on their next opponent in a best-of-three format match on Wednesday (Dec 4).

"We have to give our all in the match to get the result we want as there will be no more lives left if we lose," added Arcadia.

SRG will only know their next opponent's identity when the draw is conducted following the conclusion of tomorrow's (Dec 1) matches.
