KUALA LUMPUR: The Ng Eain Yow-led men's squad concluded their campaign at the World Team Squash Championships by finishing ninth following a 2-0 playoff win against Scotland in Hong Kong today.
Despite improving on last year's 11th-place finish, the fifth-seeded team fell short of expectations, having aimed for a quarter-final berth.
Asian champion Eain Yow set the tone with a 7-11, 11-1, 11-4, 11-6 victory over Greg Lobban, followed by Sanjay Jeeva clinching the win with an 11-8, 11-9, 11-7 triumph against Rory Stewart.
The national women's team did better by finishing third.
