PETALING JAYA: Pelaburan Mara Berhad (PMB), through its Sports & Recreational Club PMB United, recently hosted the 22nd Inter-Unit Trust Bowling Tournament 2024 at Wangsa Bowl, One Utama.
The event saw 24 teams, comprising 96 players from unit trust companies, asset management firms, leading organisations and media agencies, competing for the top honours.
The tournament, aimed at fostering stronger relationships, promoting sportsmanship and celebrating teamwork, was officially opened by Mohd Adzhar Abdul Hamed, chief operating officer of Pelaburan Mara Berhad and president of PMB United.
"The warm reception from all parties is truly inspiring and demonstrates the high level of sportsmanship among us," he said.
Mohd Adzhar commended the teams for their dedication in preparation, including player selection, training and strategic planning. He also encouraged them to carry the spirit of teamwork and discipline into their professional lives.
The event was also attended by key figures such as PMB Investment Berhad chairman Datuk Mohd Idzwan Izuddin Ab Rahman, PMB Investment acting chief investment officer Hang Tuah Amin Tajudin and Pelaburan Mara's Marketing Communications acting head Taha Rusydi Mohd Nazri.
Idzwan said: "This tournament is more than just a competition; it is an opportunity to build camaraderie, strengthen relationships and celebrate teamwork.
"In our fast-paced industry, events like this provide an opportunity to connect on a personal level, have fun and create lasting memories beyond the workplace."
In the media category, Media Prima-TV3 emerged as the champion, while Media Prima-NST claimed the first runner-up spot. Media Prima-Omnia took second runner-up, followed by Media Mulia-Utusan Malaysia in fourth place.
Astro Awani & Astro Gempak finished in fifth place and Bernama secured sixth place.
