SIK: A 21-year-old woman endured nearly six hours of pain after her wedding ring became stuck on her right ring finger and could not be removed.
Sik Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Chief Zulkhairi Mat Tanjil said they received information about the incident at 8:53 am when the victim sought assistance at the fire and rescue station.
He added that the victim was also accompanied by her husband and child.
"The housewife had worn her wedding ring after not wearing it for a long time, but she did not expect to feel pain after a few hours.
"She tried various methods to remove the ring, including using soapy water, cooking oil and lotion, but none worked, so she came to the station," he said when contacted.
He added that the team had used special tools to cut the ring and there were no serious injuries to the victim's finger.
