Projek Mangkuk Tingkat encourages Malaysians to shift towards healthier living

TO reshape how Malaysians approach their daily dining habits, MyResipi, WOWSHOP and Le Nona have joined forces for 'Projek Mangkuk Tingkat' (Tiered Lunchbox Project).

This collaborative initiative aims to promote sustainable living by reviving interest in homemade meals, which promote healthier lifestyles, environmental stewardship and community engagement.

Running from July 1 to 31, Projek Mangkuk Tingkat comprises a series of four weekly videos to be featured on the MyResipi Facebook page.

These videos will showcase the benefits of packing homemade meals in reusable containers, highlighting the campaign's core values of health, sustainability and community.

"Projek Mangkuk Tingkat encourages Malaysians to embrace homemade food as a solution to single-use packaging," said a spokesperson from WOWSHOP.

"It's about more than just food — it's about nurturing ourselves, protecting our planet, and connecting with others through shared culinary experiences," they added.

The Projek Mangkuk Tingkat campaign promotes four key advantages of packing homemade meals.

Firstly, it encourages better health by offering balanced, portion-controlled meals packed with fresh ingredients, promoting long-term wellness.

Secondly, it advocates for environmental conservation by reducing single-use plastics and packaging waste linked to takeouts, leading to a greener planet.

Thirdly, the campaign promotes financial savings and reduced food waste through the repurposing of leftovers, which can lead to significant cost savings over time.

Lastly, Projek Mangkuk Tingkat fosters a deeper sense of community by encouraging participants to share recipes and meal ideas. This builds social connections and creates a supportive community centred around homemade meals.

As part of the initiative, MyResipi has also launched the "Projek Mangkuk Tingkat" competition, inviting Malaysians to showcase their creativity by sharing their favourite recipes and photos of packed meals on the designated video posts on the MyResipi Facebook page.

Participants stand to win weekly prizes, including a special Le Nona set worth RM1,234.

The weekly Le Nona set prizes will comprise either an Italian Bloom Dinnerware Set (two winners each) or a Jumbo Rose Wok Set (two winners each).

To join the contest, participants can head to the MyResipi Facebook page, watch the weekly videos, as well as share their recipes and photos in the comments section.
