JAKARTA: Indonesia recorded 2,098 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours yesterday, bringing its tally of infections to 132,816.
The republic's death toll from the coronavirus also rose, with 65 new fatalities recorded yesterday. The death toll now stands at 5,968.
According to Indonesia's official Covid-19 website, www.covid19.go.id, 76,515 patients are under surveillance.
So far, the province of Jakarta has recorded the highest number of cases at 27,761, followed by East Java at 26,561, Bernama reported.
Meanwhile, East Java has the highest number of deaths at 1,953, followed by Jakarta (970), Central Java (765) and South Sulawesi (339).
