#SHOWBIZ: I had early discharge as medical expenses can be costly — Azlee Jaafar

KUALA LUMPUR: Senario comedian Azlee Jaafar, 57, has expressed his gratitude to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for allowing him an early discharge recently.

He also thanked IJN for facilitating the smooth settlement of his medical bill.

In an interview with Harian Metro yesterday, Azlee said that he had asked the hospital for an early discharge to avoid accumulating hefty medical expenses.

"Doctors estimated the cost to be more than RM30,000. However, IJN gave a reduction and I also got help from Yayasan Selangor," said Azlee adding that IJN released him when his condition became more stable.

"I have been resting at home for three days and I am feeling a lot better now.

"Thank you to IJN and Sungai Buloh Hospital where I first went following my heart attack last week.

"All of you are heroes for working hard to save patients' lives including mine."

Azlee advised his fans to obtain insurance coverage because if they have critical health problems, it would help cover their medical treatment.

Azlee was admitted to IJN a week ago after suffering a heart attack at home.
