SHAH ALAM: A total of 472 people in six locations in Selangor have been affected when their homes were hit by floods after heavy rain yesterday.
They are residents of Kampung Chinchang and Kampung Lembah Paya in Sepang; Jalan Haji Yusuf, Salak Tinggi; Jalan Indah 3, Kampung Salak Tengah; and Kampung Seri Sentosa Batu 25, Ijok and Kampung Bukit Kapar, both in Kuala Selangor.
State Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said until 7am this morning, five relocation centres have been opened at Balairaya Kampung Chinchang, Balairaya Kampung Baru Salak Tinggi; Balairaya Salak Lama; surau in Lembah Paya and surau in Ladang Tuan Mee.
"Five of the 472 victims affected in Kampung Bukit Kapar have been relocated to their relatives’ homes on higher ground,” he said.
