TUARAN: Authorities have cut off electricity supply to 12 illegal gambling premises here.
The premises are located in Tuaran and Tamparuli, Taman Sri Rugading, Taman Telipok Ria as well as Taman Telipok Square.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Hamizi Halim said the operation, from 9am till 5pm yesterday, was held with help from Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB).
"All the premises concerned did not have a valid license. During the operation, there were no problems and it went smoothly," he said.
Mohd Hamizi added that police acted in accordance with Section 21A of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
