Police looking for two female witnesses to assist in firearms case

NIBONG TEBAL: Police are looking for two local women to assist in a trial relating to a firearms case in Simpang Ampat here five years ago.

Seberang Prai Selatan district police chief Superintendent Lee Chong Chern said the duo were needed for a case being tried in the Butterworth High Court.

"The two witnesses are G. Tevake, 38, and A. Arulmery, 64, and their last address showed they were staying in Taman Idaman, Simpang Ampat.

"Both of them are needed to be present in court for the trial proceedings on March 7 and 8," he said today.

Lee said the case was tried under Section 7 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 and Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960.

"Those with information about the two witnesses are urged to contact the Seberang Prai Selatan district's Criminal Investigation Department investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Ng Chom Lam at 012-5166636," he added.
