KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Bank Bhd has garnered five awards for its innovative e-payments solutions at the Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards (MEAA) 2017.
CIMB was recognised as Best JomPAY Bank, Best Customer Experience for JomPAY, JomPAY Innovative Award, Best IBG Bank and FPX Innovative Award.
CIMB Group chief executive Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz said its recognition as the Best JomPAY Bank for two consecutive years is a testament to its continuous efforts to be at the forefront of digital banking in Malaysia.
"CIMB is committed to driving e-payments by providing our customers and the public alternative channels to transact reliably, securely and efficiently at their convenience.
"We are focused on migrating more businesses and organisations to e-payments by being the key enabler in Malaysia’s journey to embrace a digital economy,” he said.
The awards recognised CIMB’s role as a market leader in proactively assisting businesses and organisations to efficiently manage their cash flow.
CIMB has also launched a series of campaigns and activities to boost market awareness and increase the transaction volume of JomPAY.
Smooth onboarding and constant engagements with clients from product implementation to marketing were also key contributors to CIMB winning Best Customer Experience for JomPAY.
The JomPAY Innovative and FPX Innovative Awards are a result of CIMB’s innovative bundling of JomPAY and FPX with other products and services, including the award-winning CIMB EVA app, to provide a comprehensive suite of cash management solutions in meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
CIMB’s win of Best IBG Bank was awarded based on the bank’s significant share of IBG transaction volume, strong year-on-year volume growth and high conversion volume from cheque payments to IBG payment.
MEAA is an annual event that recognises the outstanding achievements of banks, businesses and government agencies that have contributed significantly towards excellence, innovation and growth of electronic payments in Malaysia.
The MEEA 2017 was organised by the Malaysian Electronic Clearing Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyClear), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank Negara Malaysia that operates Malaysia’s key payment systems and financial market infrastructures.
