KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd has appointed Datin Azalina Adham, 52, as its new independent non-executive director effective from June 24.
Chairman Datuk Syed Hussian Aljunid said Azalina has a proven track record in the areas of business development, strategy and transformation.
"We trust she will contribute greatly to the company moving forward," said Syed Hussian in a statement today.
Azalina has more than 25 years of diverse experience in the financial and capital markets industry, and is currently serving as an independent director of MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd.
She is also a member of the executive advisory panel of the Cultural Economy Development Agency or Cendana.
"Azalina joined Bursa Malaysia in 2001 and has held various positions in the areas of strategy and transformation as well as business and investor development.
"She most recently served as the chief operating officer of Bursa Malaysia from February 2017 to 2020," Media Prima said.
Prior to joining the stock exchange, Media Prima said Azalina was an investment banker with experience in corporate banking, corporate finance and privatisation having served with Maybank Investment Bank and Alliance Investment Bank Bhd.
Azalina holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Purdue University, the United States (US), and is an alumni of the Harvard Business School in the US where she attended its advanced management programme.
