A new era begins: Media Prima transitions to Bangsar with fresh innovations

KUALA LUMPUR: The phrase "Back to my colleagues in Sri Pentas" has become a familiar refrain for loyal viewers tuning in to live broadcasts from the News and Current Affairs Department of Media Prima Berhad's (MPB) television network.

This iconic expression is synonymous with Media Prima, a leader in Malaysia's broadcasting and media industry.

Since its inception in 1995, Sri Pentas has left a lasting mark on popular culture, delivering comprehensive news and artistic developments across generations.

After nearly three decades at Sri Pentas in Petaling Jaya, Media Prima's news operations have now transitioned to their new hub at Balai Berita on Jalan Riong, Bangsar.

This move includes the broadcasts of TV3, TV9, 8TV, and DidikTV, all of which have relocated to Bangsar.

The consolidation of news operations — including TV9, 8TV, and ntv7 — enhances the efficiency and scope of news content gathering from across the nation.

The programming lineup now features not only established segments like Buletin Pagi, Buletin 1.30, Berita Terkini, Nightline, and Buletin Utama but also fresh segments such as Aduan Rakyat and Laporan Khas.

According to Buletin TV3, Media Prima group chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Aljunid emphasised the significance of this move.

"Being under one roof brings together all our existing platforms. This transition symbolises a new era that is more dynamic and progressive for Media Prima," he said.

Meanwhile, MPB group managing director Rafiq Razali announced substantial investments to upgrade infrastructure and systems with the latest technology.

The four new news studios for each station will operate fully on digital systems, incorporating state-of-the-art newsroom technology.

This transition not only exposes Media Prima's team to cutting-edge technology but also enhances overall operational efficiency.

Media Prima Television Networks CEO Nini Yusof said that viewers could expect a fresh delivery style from the network's presenters, thanks to the new studio and set designs.

This move marks a dynamic shift aimed at ensuring that TV3 retains its position as Malaysia's leading provider of quality content and the No.1 television station.
