AMH withdraws protest on ICS Depot Services over depot fee increase

KUALA LUMPUR: The Association of Malaysian Hauliers (AMH) members have decided to withdraw their protest against the increase in depot fees levied by ICS Depot Services Bhd (IDS).

Deputy president Soo Chee Yeong said the decision came after a meeting between AMH president and IDS director Ooi Lean Hin.

Their official letter on the depot gate charge (DGC) price increase was received by the AMH secretariat on August 31, 2021, and it stated that the increase would be deferred for an additional one-month period.

According to Soo, AMH withdrew their protest after the IDS deferred the price increase for another month, as well as the service level agreement (SLA) between IDS and AMH.

Soo said the SLA containing certain conditions, including IDS, would form a task force together with AMH to monitor and work out details on the SLA, a service guarantee of 45 minutes including the waiting time outside their depots and a credit term of 60 days for the DGC payment.

It also included a joint commitment between IDS and AMH to work out the disciplines and working procedures of implementing the SLA using the Cargomove Community Platform, a container booking system.

"The association is always ready to explore and engage with the relevant parties to achieve an amicable solution for the betterment of the industry," he added.
