KUALA LUMPUR: A man, unable to pay for the services of a prostitute, was allegedly abducted by two individuals from the capital to Melaka recently.
Alor Gajah police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah said the victim was said to have been beaten first before being taken away and locked up in a house in Kuala Sungai Baru.
"I was informed that initially the victim promised to pay around RM500 for the service, but two male suspects entered the room, demanding RM1,000 be paid to the woman involved.
"The victim, however, did not have that amount of money and was beaten by the suspects. It is unclear whether the victim was unconscious at the time or intoxicated before being taken to Melaka," he said when contacted today.
Ashari said the victim managed to escape on Aug 17 after one of the men watching over him fell asleep.
"The victim then sought help from villagers and the incident went viral.
"However, we are still awaiting a full report as the case is being investigated by the Kuala Lumpur contingent and the victim has also filed a report there," he said.
He said further checks by the police at the premises also uncovered ganja and an investigation file had been opened under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
