KUALA LUMPUR: Biomicrogels Group, a fast-growing international technology group which recently started operations in Malaysia, has named Oliver Cescotti as a board member.
Its chief executive officer and co-founder Andrey Elagin said having joined the Biomicrogels team, Cescotti would strengthen the company's positions in international markets on its way to the initial public offering (IPO).
"Cescotti will introduce the best international business management practices for high-tech industrial solutions companies," said Elagin in a statement.
The company said Cescotti was ready to expand the company's business in Malaysia, which is one of the world's largest palm oil producers.
Biomicrogels has been present in the Southeast Asia region since 2019.
In Malaysia, three companies have already signed a contract for distribution of reagents for oil extraction Biomicrogels BMGC4.
The company works with 15 manufacturers, each operating three to 15 oil factories.
Biomicrogels said over the past two years, the share of the company's industrial products exports to Southeast Asia had increased by 30 per cent.
This included not only the palm oil extraction enhancing agents, but also the processing and dispensing station, it said.
" When designing the station, the engineers considered the local specifics of palm oil production plants' operations and the climatic characteristics of the region.
"Cescotti's functions will include strategic planning and consulting on key issues related to business development in global markets, including Malaysia as well as optimization and internationalisation of the corporate management model of the company," it said.
Cescotti said global palm oil production exceeded 90 million tonnes per year, and the company's solutions based on Biomicrogels technology helped increase this figure by about another one million tons.
He said with the skyrocket growth in the stock price of crude palm over the past two years, when it was beating one historical record after another (while in September 2019 it was around US$500 per tonne, in September 2021 it exceeded US$1,400), these numbers can be even more impressive.
"I am confident that our cooperation will benefit leading industrial enterprises throughout the world. It will also help reduce environmental damage from carbon emissions, as well as preserve fresh water for future generations," said Cescotti.
According to Biomicrogels, Cescotti brought enormous international professional experience in business management – over 30 years as an entrepreneur and as senior executive with GEA Group.
For the past 15 years, he had led the subsidiary of an international corporation for GEA in Russia, Belorussia, Central Asia and the Caucasus region.
GEA is one of the world's largest engineering companies providing process solutions and equipment for a broad range of industries and applications.
Since 2015, Cescotti became president and country manager of the GEA Group and has since been responsible for all activities of GEA's subsidiaries and divisions in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the Caucasus.
