A&W Malaysia opens in Terengganu after major refurbishment exercise

KUALA LUMPUR: A&W Malaysia has reopened its popular outlet at Pantai Batu Buruk, Terengganu, following a major refurbishment exercise.

This was the first refurbishment done by the outlet since it began operations in August 1996.

The Pantai Batu Buruk outlet now spots a cool trendy modern-retro look and ambience that celebrates its rich food and beverage heritage.

A&W Malaysia chief operating officer Sophia Ch'ng said the reopening was a significant milestone for the A&W brand as it is one of the most successful outlets in Malaysia.

"The A&W brand has struck a positive chord within the community and tourists who flock to this idyllic location. We are committed to ensuring that the brand and the restaurant remain fresh, vibrant and attractive for many more years.

"We have invested more than RM3 million to fully refurbish this outlet.

"It is one of the many ways we can show our valued strategic partners like Koperasi Pegawai-Pegawai Tadbir Negeri Terengganu Berhad (PPTNT) that we are always focused towards a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership," she said.

A&W Pantai Batu Buruk was established through a partnership between A&W Malaysia and PPTNT, the Co-operatives for State Administrators in Terengganu.

Ch'ng added that the company was also steadfast in ensuring that A&W continues to delight its current and growing fans with innovations and evolved offerings.

A&W Malaysia currently has 86 stores and outlets in Malaysia and Klang Valley.

The fast-food chain aims to hit 200 stores nationwide by 2025.
