KUALA LUMPUR: Ogawa Malaysia plans to open up to 10 more branches this year to fulfill the growing demand for health and well-being in the post-pandemic environment.
Leong Boon Hong, the company's deputy director for sales and marketing, said it would invest upwards of six figures in each branch.
"We are planning for expansion, not just for our Ogawa brand, but also for other new brands, we plan to introduce this year like Ogawa by Ogawa which strives to make healthcare and wellness modern, entertaining and young," he told the New Straits Times.
Leong said OGAWA was strengthening its position in this industry and putting more emphasis on both physical and emotional welfare.
The company believes that the health and wellness sector will continue to grow since more and more individuals are becoming health-conscious, particularly in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.
"As the population of our country grows more educated, they will inevitably make more purchases that enhance their lifestyle and general well-being.
"Ogawa's main priority is to introduce cutting-edge tested health and wellness technologies into as many Malaysians' homes as possible," he said.
Sales of massage and health products in Malaysia are predicted to rise to RM346 million in 2023 from below RM300 million last year as customers become more aware of their lifestyle and well-being.
The Ogawa group was founded in 1996 and currently has over 1,000 outlets across 20 countries.
It operates at over 50 locations in Malaysia and holds 45 per cent of the market for massage products.
Leong said the company planned to release new models of massage chairs and related products this year.
He said the public had shown strong interest in the company's most recent massage chair, the Ogaws Maestro, which was unveiled earlier this month.
Maestro is available for RM27,999 at retail.
In connection with the debut, the product is currently on sale for RM20,999 until March 31 and buyers will also receive a free premium eye massager and a 3-in-1 leather bundle.
"We are offering a 0 per cent installment plan for up to 68 months and aim to sell more than 200 units per month. Maestro was built especially to deal with the problems of today.
"We are the only company offering an all-encompassing solution which includes red light therapy, negative IONs therapy, music therapy with binaural beats, AI precision sensors and an AI tiredness tracker," he said.
