Three Independent directors of Sarawak Consolidated resign ahead of removal

KUALA LUMPUR: Civil engineering company Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB) announced on Monday that three Independent directors, due to be removed at an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) tomorrow, June 28, has resigned.

According to the filing with Bursa Malaysia all three directors Noor Azri Dato' Sri Noor Azerai and Nuraiman Shaiful Annuar and Mohd Shakir Bin Shahimi resigned due to personal and other commitments. 

Serba Dinamik Bhd group managing director Datuk Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah holds a 23.996 per cent interest in SCIB.

On May 31, 2023 Lim Hau Yang, Ang Sok Kiang, Ungguh Holdings Sdn Bhd, Teo En Chie, Lee Chee Hoon, Chin Choon Wei, Liaw Way Gian and Hong Mei Ying, shareholders who jointly hold more than 10.0% of the total issued share capital of the SCIB, called for an EGM to put forward eight resolutions for vote.

The resolutions were to remove Noor Azri, Nuraiman and Mohd Shakir and appoint Kang Wei Luen, Dang Nguk Ling, and Liaw as directors in the company.

Kang, 35,  is an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya  since 2012, who also holds a directorship in Artroniq Bhd; Dang, 36, a business strategist for brand development for businesses; Liaw, 37, is a director in Raya Global Capital Management Sdn Bhd and also a director in Artroniq.

SCIB closed unchanged at 43.5 sen yesterday.
