KUALA LUMPUR: SKS Airways has dispatched a team of seven skilled engineers to Brazil for an intensive practical training led by the renowned aircraft manufacturer, Embraer.
This is in line with SKS Airways' vision to expand its flight offerings and fleet size in the coming months.
The Malaysia regional carrier said the dynamic training, spanning over two weeks from Sept 4-19, underscores SKS Airways' commitment to excellence and its steady progression towards the future.
The core objective of the training is to empower SKS Airways' engineers with the expertise and in-depth knowledge required for the maintenance and troubleshooting of the E195-E2 aircraft, with a strong focus on ensuring its safety.
The team comprises licenced aircraft engineers, technical services engineer and quality assurance inspector from SKS Airways and two representatives from Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
"The practical training for our engineers is essential as we prepare for our regional expansion with a new fleet of Embraer E195-E2 jets.
"It is crucial that we enhance our technical capabilities to effectively execute our regional growth strategy," said SKS Airways director Datuk Rohman Ahmad.
This milestone will position SKS Airways as the first regional airline operating out of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah or Subang Airport), with a particular focus on serving time-sensitive travellers.
In May 2023, SKS Airways entered strategic partnerships with Embraer Commercial Aviation and Azorra for the leasing of 10 E195-E2s at the 16th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace exhibition.
Commencing in January 2024, the E195-E2s will form the core of SKS Airways' expansion plans and is set to be the first operator of E195-E2s in Southeast Asia.
