KUALA LUMPUR: The upcoming Malaysia Digital Expo 2023 (MDX 2023) has been billed as an occasion where global visionaries unite by organiser Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
This six-week event celebrates Malaysia's vibrant digital economy and is themed Let's Do Business, Get Invested in Malaysia.
"MDX 2023 is set to showcase the latest innovations and technologies from local and global companies. It aims to demonstrate Malaysia's readiness to explore and grow, take the digital ecosystem to the next level and open doors for businesses in the ASEAN region and beyond," said MDEC in a statement.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will deliver the keynote address at MDX 2023.
The MDX 2023 Grand Finale will take place on November 6–8, 2023, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.
Among marquee speakers are Zack Kass, the former Head of Go-To-Market for OpenAI (developer of ChatGPT) and futurist, who will be headlining a session entitled Digital Edge: Forging the Digital Economy Forward through AI.
Another event highlight is a session on the importance of pivoting, hosted by MDEC senior vice president Gopi Ganesalingam and Zoom Video Communication (Zoom) head of APAC Ricky Kapur.
Industry players often refer to Gopi as a champion of Malaysia's tech ecosystem, and he was recently honoured by the National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) with a special recognition award for tech growth catalyst.
Ricky, meanwhile, is renowned for his forward-thinking strategies and dynamic leadership in video communications.
Having played a pivotal role in the expansion of Zoom throughout Malaysia and the region, Ricky has been instrumental in driving the adoption of remote working tools and technologies in the modern digital workplace.
As a company, Zoom also recently introduced new platform innovations underpinned by powerful AI capabilities at its Zoomtopia APAC 2023 event held earlier this month.
Ricky's insights, combined with Gopi's expertise, promise a compelling and enlightening discussion ahead for attendees.
MDX 2023 will also feature a host of leading digital innovators and leaders.
They include Japan Peppol Authority director Hiroyuki Kato, Equinix president (Asia-Pacific) Jeremy Deutsch, IEEE Systems chair (Man and Cybernetics Society for UK and Ireland) Dr Bala Amavasai, Carsome co-founder and chief executive officer Eric Cheng and Penjana Kapital chief executive officer Taufiq Iskandar.
