KUALA LUMPUR: The second edition of Retail Solution Expo (Resonex 2023) showcased various offerings for business owners looking to diversify their operations or expand their footprint efficiently.
For example, visitors looking to venture into a new industry or gain a passive income were given the opportunity to tap into smart vending machines under DVends Tech Sdn Bhd, via its purchase and rent programme.
The programme enables the purchase of a vending machine worth RM30,000 which the company will then place at a suitable location under a three-year rental contract.
The programme enables the machine owners to earn a monthly income and track its sales online.
After the three-year contract ends, business owners can choose to take back the machine for their own use, renew the rental contract for another two years at RM500 per month or sell the machine for RM30,000.
Dvends Tech project manager Esther Lee said the company saw a rising trend in the usage of vending machines from 2018, which was further amplified by the pandemic.
"There was also a take up in e-wallet so we decided that it was time to offer a smart vending machine solution. "The regular vending machines require cash, which was a hassle for business owners because there is a possibility of theft and they also have to manually take the cash from the machine to banks. "Smart vending machines make these steps easier and is also a great passive income because it does not require 24 hour supervision," said Lee.
Another exhibitor, Troopers, was on hand to help business owners looking for part-time workers, via its app.
Troopers is a job matching platform which connects hiring managers with part-timers.
Troopers business development associate Yip Hoi Yan said the platform eliminates concerns on scams with regards to employment which are rampant post-Covid.
"We will screen the job postings as well as potential candidates so there is no need for both sides to worry about scams. "For hiring managers, we will manage the search based on their requirements and match the talents for them," she said. -end-
