ALOR STAR: It was double happiness for twin sisters Wong Shuang Er and Wong Shuang Yee when they collected their Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) results at the Sultan Sallehuddin Form Six College here today.
Shuang Er scored a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.0 and Shuang Yee scored 3.84.
They were beaming next to their parents, Wong Soon Hwa and Lim Sook Ching.
"We always studied together. We look forward to furthering our studies in Bachelor of Management (Finance) at Universiti Sains Malaysia," said Shuang Er.
Wisam Mohamad Roslee said he did not expect to achieve CGPA 4.0.
"I am surprised, but grateful for the results. I thank my teachers for helping me prepare for the examination.
"I prioritised understanding the subjects in depth instead of just memorising," Wisam said next to his mother, Mariam Abd Rahman.
Another CGPA 4.0 scorer, Fatnin Ayuni Hasrizal, said she was grateful she decided to enrol in the Form Six College.
"I had another offer after SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia), but I decided to enrol in the Form Six College as I believed it would be helpful in preparing me for a bachelor's degree programme.
"I thank my teachers and parents for their full support," said Fatnin Ayuni, who aspires to become an English teacher.
Chin Yee Xuan said she was overjoyed by her CGPA 4.0 achievement, which put her one step closer to fulfilling her dream of studying accounting.
"I've wanted to become an accountant since I was a kid. I am very happy that I am closer to achieving my dream," said Chin, who was accompanied by her mother, Yeoh Sian Ting.
She praised the pre-university system adopted by the Form Six College as it was more flexible than the previous STPM system.
"The three-semester system is less stressful and allows us to have more focus."
College principal Ahmad Othman said 10 students from the college achieved CGPA 4.0, out of a total of 222 candidates.
