MyEG gets JPJ nod to start pilot test of e-Testing for drivers

KUALA LUMPUR: MyEG Services Bhd (MyEG) has received approval from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to proceed with the pilot phase of the MyEG Drive Testing System (MYDTS) involving actual test candidates.

In its filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said the MYDTS pilot test had been approved to run from Dec 18, 2023 until Feb 16 next year.

"At this point of time, MyEG does not foresee any risks in relation to the MYDTS Pilot Test.

"The board is of view that the test is in the best interest of the company and is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the company for the financial years ending December 31, 2024 (FY24) onwards upon successful commercialisation," it said.

In 2021, MyEG was given the nod from JPJ to start the proof of concept for an automated training and driving test system or e-Testing to assess the competencies of candidates undergoing the drivers' learning education curriculum.

At the opening market today, MyEG shares was flat at 80 sen, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM6.01 billion.
