KNM receives notice from another shareholder to nominate a director at upcoming AGM

KUALA LUMPUR: KNM Group Bhd has received notice from yet another shareholder of her intention to nominate director for appointment at the company's upcoming annual general meeting on June 6, 2024.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd, KNM said it received notice from law firm Messrs Au & Partners on behalf of Sazini Abdullah, who claims to be a shareholder of the company, to nominate Manfred Gustav Von Nostitz for the position of director at the upcoming AGM.

"Further development on the above matter will be announced to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in due course," it said.

This marks the second notice the company has received, following one from four shareholders nominating four individuals for director positions at the upcoming AGM.

On May 21, 2024, KNM received a written notice from Messrs. Cheang and Ariff, representing Tan Khye Yinn, Chang Hui Kee, Mah Wai Leon, and Wang Hee Heng, proposing the appointment of Wong Toh Sing, William H Vanvliet III, Wan Kamaruddin Wan Mohamed Ali, and Sakthi Kumar Ramadas s directors.

In October last year, a bid by a group of investors led by German billionaire Andreas Heeschen to vote out the current board of directors of KNM was thwarted. Heeschen still owns a substantial 6.423 per cent in KNM.
