KUALA LUMPUR: Pekat Group Bhd has bagged a RM21.79 million contract from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd for the construction of earthing and lightning protection systems in Rawang, Selangor. In its filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities, the company said the contract was awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary Pekat E & LP Sdn Bhd (PELP).
"The job involves performing subcontract works in connection to construction and completion, including testing and commissioning of earthing and lightning protection systems."
"The subcontract is expected to be completed by Sept 30, 2025, while the main contract's substantial completion would be by Feb 27, 2026," Pekat said.
It said the contract secured is expected to contribute positively to Pekat's earnings for FY24 onwards until the completion of the contract.
Pekat was trading 1.5 per cent lower earlier at 94.5 sen.
