MN Holdings bags RM162.6mil  data centre job

KUALA LUMPUR: Underground utilities and substation engineering specialist MN Holdings Bhd has bagged a RM162.59 million contract for a hyperscale data centre located at the southern region of Malaysia.

The company's unit, Mutu Nusantara Sdn Bhd, accepted a letter of award (LOA) from an unnamed company for its appointment as the contractor.

The contract scope of work comprises design, build and construction of a high voltage main switching station (SSU) and consumer containerized SSU.

The unnamed company is principally engaged in activities of providing infrastructure for hosting, data processing services and related activities, wholesale of a variety of goods without any particular specialisation, and computer facilities management activities.

The contract starts immediately and target for completion by July 2025.

Its executive director Datuk Loy Siong Hay said the contract reflects the group's growing capability and competency in the power industry.

"Malaysia has experienced a phenomenal surge in data centre development. In just two years, the state's capacity has skyrocketed from 10 megawatt (MW) to over 1,000MW, making it a regional powerhouse."

"This boom presents several exciting prospects for MN Holdings. We will continue to leverage on our deep experience in the underground utilities and substation engineering segment to secure more projects from the data centre segment moving forward," he said.

Inclusive of the latest contract win, MN Holdings has successfully increased its order book to RM763.7 million, providing a strong earnings visibility to the group for the next two years.
