Infomina bags RM22.35mil JPJ AwAS speed camera upgrade job

KUALA LUMPUR: Infomina Bhd has bagged a RM22.35 million job from the Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ) for the upgrade and maintenance of Automated Awareness Safety System (AwAS) speed camera.

The job involves providing maintenance and support services for the back-end application, data centre infrastructure, disaster recovery systems, network, and communication for AwAS.

It also includes maintaining integration services between AwAS and various entities to ensure digital enforcement processes are secure.

The tenure of the contract is for three years from Feb 1, 2025 to Jan 31, 2028.

During this period, Infomina will explore new technologies like 5G infrastructure and AI automation to enhance image processing and ensure smooth integration of existing and new enforcement cameras.

Infomina will also provide project management services and work with the government team to implement the AwAS project.

Infomina's share price was up 0.75 per cent or one sen to RM1.36 a share, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM811.7 million.

Earlier today, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the AwAS cameras will be upgraded to a point-to-point monitoring method, replacing the current static approach.
