KUALA LUMPUR: Sustainable Brands Kuala Lumpur Conference 2024 (SB'24 KL) will focus on the themes of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in service of sustainability and regeneration.
The event which will be held in August 13 and August 14 at Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur will have hands-on workshops, in addition to plenary and panel sessions.
Jointly hosted by Acacia Blue and Sime Darby Property, the conference will highlight how brands and organisations are utilising technology and AI to support and advance their sustainability initiatives.
It will also showcase technology and tools available from tech providers, that can assist organisations in getting started and progressing on their sustainability journeys.
Acacia Blue conference convenor and managing director Sharmini Nagulan said the theme for SB'24KL will delve into how technology can be deployed to reshape the future of commerce so that business and society can thrive in harmony with nature.
"This will require ongoing breakthroughs in technology and innovation that is properly and ethically deployed for us to reach our goals. At SB'24 KL we will explore new strategies, tools and solutions for turning challenges into business opportunities to redesign our brands to win in a changing world," Sharmini said.
This year's event will include an exciting line-up of over 30 international and local speakers delivering thought-provoking content designed to inspire participants to enhance and evaluate their own sustainability strategies and journeys.
"Conserving, regenerating, and strengthening nature and urban biodiversity are crucial collective efforts that will help reduce climate risks, improve air quality, and capture carbon. Platforms like SB'24 KL provide opportunities to amplify this message," said Sime Darby Property general manager of sustainability Dr Yasmin Rasyid.
Participants can also look forward to two interactive panel discussions on technology and AI in Supply Chain Sustainability and Sustainable Fintech; as well as hands-on workshops conducted by Jenny Andersson and Marc Buckley.
An annual event since 2015, Sustainable Brands Kuala Lumpur is held under the auspices of Sustainable Brands Worldwide, the largest global community of purpose-driven innovators working to help shift the world to a more sustainable economy.
