PERUSAHAAN Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua), the largest carmaker in the country, has delivered 28,000 units Myvis, as the carmaker increases its production of the popular hatchback.
To date, all cars ordered last year have been delivered.
Perodua said there had been 60,000 units booked since orders first opened.
“We thank our customers and the public for their strong support of Myvi, and we will continue to improve the delivery time for our valued customers,” said Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin in a statement.
Zahari said customers who placed their bookings now for the new Myvi would most likely receive their cars in time for the Raya holidays.
“To date, Perodua has fulfilled all new Myvi orders made last year,” Zahari said.
He added that based on the strong support of Perodua’s latest offering as well as healthy demand for its other models, Perodua estimated its market share for the month of February to surpass 41 per cent, with 17,100 vehicles sold against an estimated 41,100-unit Total Industry Volume (TIV).
“Making up the 17,100 units were 6,500 units Myvis, 5,000 units Axias, 3,700 units Bezzas and 1,900 units Alzas. On a year-on-year basis, Perodua’s sales performance improved by 13.1 per cent to 34,800 units against 30,800 vehicles sold in the first two months of last year.
“Perodua targets to sell 209,000 units this year - a 2 per cent increase from the 204,900 units sold in last year. For enquiries or bookings, we ask our customers to deal only with authorised Perodua personnel at authorised Perodua outlets,” said Zahari.
