PETALING JAYA: Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia has introduced five new models from the "Modern Classics" range.
The new additions consist of the Street Twin (RM55,900), Street Scrambler (RM64,900), Scrambler XC (RM80,900), Scrambler XE (RM86,900) and Speed Twin (RM73,900).
The Triumph Street Twin, which was first introduced in 2016, has been given a power upgrade with the 900cc High Torque engine now delivering 65ps at 7,500rpm and 80Nm of torque at just 3,800rpm.
The Street Scrambler which shares the same engine also has an 18 per cent increase in power and now features a new Brembo 4-piston front brake and 120mm of suspension travel.
Also launched were the Scrambler 1200 XC and XE.
Equipped with Ohlins suspension and a new scrambler chassis, Triumph says it developed the 1200 to deliver first in class "dual purpose classic and adventure capability".
Both are designed to go off road with the XC having 200mm wheel travel and the XC 250mm.
Equipment on the new Scramblers include Triumph second generation TFT instrumentation which amongst others offer six riding modes as well as the world's first GoPro integrated control system.
Finally, the new Speed Twin, which was also launched at the same event is powered by a revised Boneville engine that churns out 97ps at 6,750 rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,950rpm, which is a 49 per cent and 40 per cent improvement over the previous year's model.
