KUALA LUMPUR: The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 smartphone is popping up in the market this Saturday for only RM899.
Powered by a high-performance, low-power Kirin 710F chipset and intelligent EMUI 9 operating system, the Y9 Prime also boasts AI-assisted photography, a lengthy battery life, unprecedented ease of use and an inventive design.
Its 6.59-inch Ultra FullView display measures at 19.5:9 in aspect ratio, taking up 91 per cent of the front surface and boasts a wide colour gamut of 85 per cent.
Making way for the bezel-less screen is its pop-up front camera. The 16MP pop-up camera with f/2.2 aperture is supported by the built-in AI feature which can identify a total of eight scenarios.
In terms of durability, the pop-up camera is built to raise and retract for 100,000 times. In other words, even if you start the front camera 100 times each day, it will still last for at least 2.7 years. Huawei says the front camera can also withstand up to 15kg of soft pressing force when it is out and can intelligently detect free falls before it is retracted.
At the back, there’s a triple camera setup – a 16MP (f/1.8) main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and 2MP depth sensor. A fingerprint scanner is also located at the back.
The phone boasts a 4GB RAM with 128GB ROM storage capacity and equipped with an all-new Read-Only File System, EROFS, which improves data compression to preserve storage space.
It is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery, uses a Type-C port and retains the standard 3.5mm headset jack.
The phone is available in three colours, namely Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue and Emerald Green.
Meanwhile, for the first time, Huawei is introducing a consumer-rewarding programme for the Y series where users can redeem exclusive rewards from various brands partners such as a free six-month Viu Premium Subscription via the Member Centre.
